New In Review: Catwoman: Hunted

Catwoman: Hunted is DC’s latest direct-to-video movie, written by Greg Weisman and directed by ¬†Shinsuke Terasawa, it stars Elizabeth Gilles as Catwoman and Stephanie Beatriz as Batwoman. Rounding out the cast is Jonathan Banks, Keith David, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Lauren Cohen, Zerah Fazal, Kelly Hu, Steve Blum, Jaqueline Obradors, Andrew Kishino, Eric Lopez, Ron Yuan and Jonathan Frakes.

After stealing a priceless jewel, Selina Kyle a.k.a. Catwoman, finds herself on the hit list of a conglomerate of crime bosses known as “Leviathan.” Having been forced to team up with Kate Kane a.k.a. Batwoman and Interpol agents Julia Pennyworth (Cohen) and King Faraday (Frakes), Catwoman now has to help take down this cadre if she wants to avoid prison or death.

New In Review: Dota: Dragon’s Blood

Dota: Dragon’s Blood is an American animated series on Netflix and animated by Studio Mir, it’s based on Valve’s Defense of the Ancients series. It features the voice talents of Yuri Lowenthal, Laura Pulver, Troy Baker, Alix Wilton Regan, Freya Tingley, Kari Wahlgren, Josh Keaton Dee Bradley, JB Blanc, Anson Mount and Tony Todd.

Now I know very little about Valve’s series, which as I discovered began as a mod to the Warcraft series, so instead of focusing on whether the show was an accurate representation of the games I instead decided to see if the show could be an engaging fantasy story. The end result was…mixed.

New In Review: Dragon’s Dogma

Dragon’s Dogma is the newest original anime from Netflix and is based on the Capcom game of the same name. It was directed by Shinya Sugai and its English dub features Greg Chun, Erica Mendez, Christina Vee with David Lodge returning to voice the dragon he played in the game.

The story follows a simple villager Ethan (Greg Chun) embarking on a quest to slay the dragon that destroyed his home, murdered his wife and unborn child and took his heart, now an Arisen he’s aided by a mysterious magical woman known as a Pawn (Erica Mendez) he travels the land slaying other monstrosities until he can reach his goal and enact his vengeance.
